
The “Spice of Life” Gourmet store was originally conceptualised by its owner, Mr Chng Kee. Following his unfortunate demise, his dream was made a reality by MD Jocelyn Chng when she opened the first sauce boutique in Sentosa.
It was to become Singapore’s first specialty sauce and spice boutique, providing opportunities for Asian food lovers to experience the excitement and multicultural influences of traditional Asian food. Combining retail with interactive experiences like food tasting and cooking demonstrations, the “Spice of Life” shop offers visitors a complete sensory and tactile experience of CHNG Kee’s sauces. For foreign visitors, it provides them the opportunity to bring home a taste of Singapore.
In 2006, the “Spice of Life” store won the “Best New Entrant 2006” Award, given by the Singapore Retailers’ Association.
The second “Spice of Life” store was opened in January 2008 at Changi International Airport Terminal 3. It is the ambition of the company to look for strategic partners overseas to establish a global chain of such franchise stores in the near future.
